Do not use this website for emergencies
If there is fire, smoke, electric shock, burning smell, gas odor, carbon monoxide alarm, flooding,
injury, live exposed wiring, sparking, or any immediate danger, stop what you are doing. Leave the area
if needed and contact emergency services, your utility company, or a qualified local professional.
Remote help has limits
Remote troubleshooting depends on the information, photos, videos, symptoms, and test results you
provide. It cannot replace an on-site inspection, licensed trade work, code inspection, engineering
review, or emergency response.
Electrical safety
Electrical work can cause shock, fire, property damage, injury, or death. Do not open panels, touch
exposed conductors, bypass safety devices, work on energized circuits, or perform electrical work that
requires a licensed electrician or permit.
Electrical codes and requirements can vary by location. When in doubt, stop and call a licensed
electrician or your local authority having jurisdiction.
Generator safety
Generator exhaust can produce deadly carbon monoxide. Never run a portable generator indoors, in a
garage, in a basement, in a shed, near open windows, or near doors and vents. Follow the manufacturer’s
instructions and place generators outdoors with exhaust directed away from the home.
Fuel, plumbing, moving parts, and tools
Fuel systems, pressurized plumbing, rotating parts, hot surfaces, batteries, sharp tools, and machinery
can all create serious hazards. Use proper protective equipment, disconnect power when appropriate,
relieve pressure when required, and stop immediately if something feels unsafe.
You decide what is safe for you
Wire & Wrench Solutions may suggest checks, questions, or possible next steps, but you are responsible
for deciding whether you are qualified and comfortable performing any action. You should stop and hire a
qualified professional whenever a task is beyond your experience, tools, or comfort level.
